Formed in 1978 by Mick Upton and Jerry Slater, Showsec was the first dedicated live event security company in the UK. Through to the present day our focus is to introduce innovative crowd management and security services, delivered to clients in a professional manner. In 2000 we became part of the International Crowd Management and Security Group, ICMS. Working alongside our European partners, The Security Company, we are now recognised internationally as global leaders in the planning and management of the entire spectrum of events worldwide.
Showsec has strong presence throughout the UK, Europe and abroad from a network of nine offices to service events and venues, headed by Managing Director Mark Harding and Operations Directors Simon Battersby and Mark Logan. With 80 full time staff and over 2,500 casual workers, the company’s efficiency stems from a well organised infrastructure of specialist departments.
We are committed to improving standards across the whole industry and were a founding member of the UK Crowd Management Association, of which Managing Director Mark Harding is currently chairman.
